The stars and it's actors
I lie on my back, watching the stars float by
twinkles and twinkles and twinkles of faint yellow
dancing in the sky for my own sweet pleasures
as though i am judge
picking out dancers
staging a show
about a man and his life
where he could do anything
as i close my eyes and retreated to my performance
i see myself
standing high above the stage
a single spotlight, hovering above me
I would point at the band
and the sounds of string instruments
and perhaps trumpets too
will fill the room, the stage and ears
and i would look at and point to the curtain
the apple red curtain fabric will rise
as gracefully as the morning sun rays when time hits dawn
and a thin line of murky fog
will creep out from the bottom
and instantly wrap its arms around the floor
like a mother goose covering its child
and the spot light will shine on me again
and i would proudly say
Welcome! welcome to my show, a show about my life
my eyes open again
if only if life was a stage
and we could pick out out actors
our lights
our music
and our lines
i fling the blanket over my head
bracing the cold
and keeping the stars close in the sky
because they are my only nightlight
and the only light i trust
